Ondi Timoner Named Honored Filmmaker at CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival 2026

CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival Names Visionary Director Ondi Timoner as 2026 Honored Guest for 10th Anniversary Event

Taking place in downtown Bellingham from April 30 to May 4, followed by a virtual program from May 7 to May 17, this milestone event highlights a decade of championing women’s voices in cinema. Ondi’s selection reflects her lasting impact on the documentary space and her continued commitment to telling urgent, socially relevant stories.

Timoner is widely recognized as the only filmmaker to win the Sundance Grand Jury Prize twice, for DIG! and We Live in Public, and her recent works All the Walls Came Down and Last Flight Home have both been shortlisted for the Academy Awards®. Her career continues to bridge personal storytelling with broader cultural conversations, often centering voices and issues that are underrepresented on screen.

As part of the festival, Ondi will present a special screening of Last Flight Home, her deeply personal and Emmy-nominated documentary, as well as her recent short All the Walls Came Down, which documents the aftermath of the Eaton Fire in Altadena. She will also lead a masterclass titled “How to Make a Great Documentary,” offering insight into her creative process and approach to storytelling.

The festival will additionally feature a screening of DIG!, her iconic 2004 film chronicling the collision of art and commerce through the relationship between The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Now preserved in the archives of the Museum of Modern Art, the film remains a defining work in music documentary filmmaking.

CASCADIA continues to position itself as a platform for diverse and inclusive storytelling, and Ondi’s recognition as Honored Filmmaker reflects the festival’s mission to elevate bold, impactful voices in cinema.
